Vocational Evaluation

Oak-Leyden’s Vocational Programs provide adults challenged with developmental disabilities multiple levels of work and life skills training. The programs allow participants to integrate into the community and function at their highest level of independence.  Oak-Leyden provides Vocational Evaluation to identify interests and skill levels for appropriate placement.  Through Developmental Training, participants gain skills in daily living, social/leisure interactions, and communication. Oak-Leyden’s Maintenance Training and Supported Employment Programs allow participants to become more self-reliant.  Participants progress into jobs at local businesses or contract work depending on abilities, skill levels, and interests.

Vocational Evaluation

Adults with developmental disabilities seeking vocational assistance begin their involvement with Oak-Leyden by working with our certified vocational evaluator. The vocational evaluator helps determine what type of vocational assistance would best serve each individual through skill tests and analysis of vocational interest.

Double Green Totes

Oak-Leyden is selling Double Green Tote Bags to members and friends of Oak-Leyden. Double Green Totes are made of recycled material and are a great alternative to using plastic bags for carrying everyday items. Choosing a Double Green tote over a plastic bag helps reduce the amount of plastic bags which can end up in neighboring landfills. Persons with Developmental Disabilities earn income constructing and decorating the bags and each bag is unique. Bags can be purchased at Oak-Leyden’s reception areas of 320 Chicago Avenue. Oak Park, and 9238 Parklane, Franklin Park. For more information call 708-524.1050 ext. 116.
