Children ages 3-12 may benefit from speech-language services if they have difficulty with their speech sounds, language, stuttering, or social skills. If your child has difficulty with any of these specific communication categories, it may look like this:

Speech sounds: Producing sounds incorrectly or being difficult to understand.
Language: Difficulty understanding spoken/written language and demonstrating difficulties with grammar, the meaning of words, and pragmatics.
Stuttering: Repeating sounds/words or pausing while trying to communicate.
Social Skills: Difficulty communicating with same-aged peers and understanding how others may think/feel. This may include predicting, inferencing, idioms, and emotions.
